About the Role
Our client are seeking to hire a motivated and detail-driven Professional Indemnity (PI) Renewals Underwriter to join their growing team. This role is primarily focused on underwriting UK PI renewals, with potential to expand into European territories depending on experience and appetite.
This is a UK-wide opportunity with flexible working arrangements.

As part of a well-established and collaborative underwriting team, you will take ownership of a diverse PI renewals portfolio, maintaining strong broker relationships while ensuring profitable underwriting decisions in line with the company’s risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of UK Professional Indemnity renewal business across various professions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, providing a high level of service and market insight.
• Assess risk exposures and apply sound underwriting judgement to ensure profitability and sustainability.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and portfolio growth, including selective new business where relevant.
• Contribute to team discussions on underwriting strategy and market developments.
• Support potential expansion into European PI markets, depending on experience and business needs.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in underwriting UK PI business.
• Strong knowledge of the UK PI market; exposure to European PI is a bonus.
• Excellent analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted broker and stakeholder relationships.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
