My client, a well-known Financial Services firm, are looking to hire a Corporate Tax Associate in their Tax team based in Southampton. The role will primarily be covering Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting, but will also support the wider tax team in a range of tasks. It is a close-knit team with a great working environment who provide plenty of support both professionally and personally.
Job Title: Corporate Tax Associate
Location: Southampton (Hybrid – 1-2 days in office per week)

Duration: 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £55,000
This role will provide the opportunity to:
- Tax Accounting & Compliance: Support business units with tax accounting obligations and corporate tax compliance, including preparation of computations and handling auditor queries.
- Tax Advisory & Strategy Alignment: Provide corporate tax advisory services and ensure alignment with the business’ Tax Strategy.
- Regulatory Obligations: Fulfil Senior Accounting Officer responsibilities and prepare the Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) return annually.
- Process & Systems Improvement: Drive enhancements in tax systems and processes, including exploring AI opportunities.
- Risk Management & Team Development: Monitor and escalate tax risks per policy, and contribute to team development through training initiatives.
To apply for this role, you must have:
- Relevant Corporate Tax experience within the UK, and good knowledge of other UK taxes, preferably within a financial services environment. (Accounting or Tax Qualification preferred)
- Experience of using Alphatax or a similar Tax Compliance system is desirable but not essential.
- Good written and verbal communicate, capable of building collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, able to multitask and prioritise whilst maintaining a high quality output.
- A high level of computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and Word.
