We’re Hiring: Deputy Head of Human Resources – Financial Services | London (On-Site, 5 Days a Week)
Are you an experienced HR leader with a background in financial services and a preference for structured, working environments? A prestigious and well-established international bank is seeking a Deputy Head of Human Resources for its UK branch, based in central London.
This is a senior-level role, working closely with the Co-Head of HR to develop and strengthen a high-integrity, regulation-aligned HR function. The organisation prides itself on its traditional, professional, and formal business culture, where high standards, discretion, and diligence are core values.
Please note: This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday to Friday), in a fully office-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Compliance
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies and policies aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Remain up to date with employment law and regulatory changes affecting HR in the financial sector.
- Provide independent, high-level HR advice to senior management on complex and sensitive matters.
Resourcing & Talent Management
- Support recruitment initiatives, advising hiring managers and contributing to selection decisions.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, performance issues, dispute resolution, and terminations.
- Support strategies to enhance employee engagement, morale, and organisational culture.
HR Planning & Budgeting
- Assist with the preparation and management of the annual HR budget in line with business planning.
Risk, Governance & Controls
- Ensure HR policies and practices meet GDPR, SMCR, and internal governance requirements.
- Monitor HR key risk indicators and participate in risk assessments and control attestations.
Candidate Profile
- Educated to degree level; CIPD qualification desirable.
- Significant HR leadership experience within UK banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and regulatory frameworks relevant to the sector.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a formal, traditional, and high-integrity business environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing change, delivering strategic HR initiatives, and influencing senior stakeholders.
