An established and fast-growing third-party AIFM is seeking an experienced Conducting Officer for Risk to lead its Risk Management function.

 

This is a senior leadership role, with Board-level visibility and direct influence over the risk strategy across a diverse portfolio of alternative investment funds, including real estate, private equity and private debt.

 

Responsibilities of the Conducting Officer for Risk:

  • Be part of the management team, overseeing and continuously enhancing the firm’s risk framework, systems and procedures.
  • Lead a team responsible for performing risk assessments on fund strategies and transactions, ensuring regulatory alignment and operational integrity.
  • Coordinate and contribute to risk reporting for internal committees and regulators, and serve as the escalation point between the risk team, Conducting Officers and the Board.
  • Engage regularly with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure consistent oversight and seamless risk management across the business.

 

Background of the Conducting Officer for Risk:

  • 6–10 years’ experience in risk management within an AIFM environment
  • Exposure to Real Estate, Private Equity or Private Debt strategies
  • Strong academic background in finance, economics, or a quantitative field
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Familiarity with AIFMD and related EU regulations
  • CAIA, CFA or FRM qualifications are advantageous
