Our client is seeking a qualified Actuary to join their consulting team which is continuously growing. They are looking for an individual who is committed to develop their career with a focus on DB pension schemes within the UK working with both Trustee Boards and Sponsoring Employers.

You must have up to 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent and pensions experience with an understanding of legislative framework for the UK Pension Schemes.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing the delivery of multiple projects across a portfolio of clients and responsibilities. Ensuring work is done on time to a high standard and within budget.
  • Developing client exposure and essential business skills by taking on a wide range of portfolio work
  • Preparing client communications, presentations, reports and attending client meetings
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and third parties.
  • Review and check actuarial calculations, supporting less experienced members of the team e.g. in respect of scheme funding, company accounting work, actuarial factors and individual member calculations
  • Opportunities to support other areas of the business such as DC, risk transfer, governance, proposition development and new business
  • Ensure client invoices are completed within internal deadlines following internal procedures
  • Maintain a record of current status of all work in accordance with agreed procedures

Skills required:

  • Client relationship management skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate activity amongst client teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple conflicting demands
  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach in developing consultancy and management skills
  • Sound grounding in actuarial and computer techniques

Location: Hybrid with offices across the UK
