Fantastic opportunity available for skilled metering engineers to work on a long term contract throughout London and the South East.

If you currently or have previously worked for a metering contractor or distribution network operator and can install single and three phase metering systems with minimum supervision these these positions may be for you.

Working as a temporary engineer via Encore Energy who are a recruitment business you will be required to carry out the installation and exchange of domestic metering systems working from home and using your own initiative, on a daily basis.

Work will be allocated to you as a mix of both pre-booked and cold call / call back appointments. Typically 20-25 jobs will be allocated to you each day within a specific postcode area and you should be looking to complete the installation of 8-14 meters each day or between 40 and 70 per week.

There is enough work available for keep a good installer busy for five days (or more) per week for the rest of 2010

For your hard work and tenacity you will be paid the following for every meter that you fit/exchange.

£14.50 up to 59 meters (single phase) per week installed

£15.00 on every meter (single phase) per week if you install 60 or over

Example:
40 x £14.50 = £580 per week
60 x £15.00 = £900 per week

Plus £22.00 for any three phase meter installed

You will be paid weekly in arrears on a Friday for the meters you have installed the week before (full details available upon application)

As this position will be paid via Encore Energy, all successful applicants will be required to provide the following:

Evidence of previous meter installation experience (permit to operate, references etc)
Own vehicle (must be a van)
Provide own fuel (although working area each day will not involve extensive travel between each job)
Provide evidence of own Public Liability cover (although this can be arranged at a reduced cost)
Criminal Record Check (basic disclosure) - details available upon application

You will also be required to attend an induction and training course (paid) prior to the start of fitting any meters.

This is an excellent long term contract with a very good earning potential and applications are welcomed from any electrical engineer with previous metering installation experience.
