Design Standards Manager - Based in Sussex
Salary and Location
A salary up to £51,000 pa is on offer for the role based in Sussex
An opportunity has arisen for a Design Standards Manager to work for one of the UK’s largest energy providers, managing and leading the development of a design team working on national grid substation upgrades.
Role Description
This role will require you to
• Develop and harmonise the electrical design standards, manuals and procedures for use by the company.
• Complete protection assessments up to 132kv to determine appropriate technical solutions.
• Develop replacement strategies and plans for protection and control assets
• Identify and introduce new technologies to in the area’s of protection and control.
• Post fault analysis of incidents
• Ensure that all team activities are align with the requirements of good engineering practices.
• Support and coach other members of your team in order to assist in colleagues personal development.
• Support the business by maintaining compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and PAS 55 through periodic reviews and updating as required.
Required Experience:
• Sound knowledge of design, operation and management of distribution assets at all voltage levels
• Excellent knowledge of construction design and management (CDM).
• A proven experience of delivering to a high standard of quality and accuracy
• Good negotiations, persuasion and coaching skills
• Ideally chartered and be degree qualified in an electrical engineering discipline
• Relevant experience of design and operation of distribution power networks and substations with voltages up to 132kv
