My client is seeking a Manager of Project Managers (Programme Director / Programme Manager)to work within the UK and Ireland PMO Organisation.
The successful Manager of Project Managers (PM) role is to provide line and resource management and focus for the Project Management team members. This is a very strategic role that enables the evolution of sound Project Management practice within this professional services division.

To provide an escalation point for all PM related issues and to look for continuous improvement in process and cost control.

Responsibilities are:

•To make effective use of PM resources and to maintain and control all aspects of the PM resource pool.
•To ensure that significant performance measures are put in place that will focus on delivery and exceed the customer’s expectations and to examine new approaches for Project Delivery.
•To lead the PM team in achieving the teams objectives.
•Use RSMS to select the most appropriate resources for projects.
•Provide Monthly/Quarterly resource forecasts based on sector.
•Staff projects using Resource Management processes
•To develop the PM team and to ensure appropriate delegation and rewards for good performance are set.
•To ensure appropriate timely and measured responses are achieved which will have a favorable impact on the Project time, cost and quality.
•To be a member of UK and Ireland PMO management team and to assist in the development of process, procedures and policy, for its future effectiveness.

Key skills:
•Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
•Previous management of large teams of Project Managers (15+)
•Experience of managing large budgets - £10m to £60M
•Telecoms Industry experience
•Good understanding Project Management Delivery Framework (PMDF)
•Candidates must be able to communicate at all levels within the client and the Customer organisations
•Experience in managing project delivery with multiple BD solutions.
•Flexible but logical approach to problem solving
