BUYER - MECHANICAL SYSTEMS

£40-50K + Benefits

THE COMPANY

A global leader in engineering manufacture, this company are responsible for the design and build of a new generation of rail vehicles for use in the UK market. They have recently won new projects and therefore require a Procurement Buyer to ensure the projects run efficiently and within budget

THE ROLE

This Procurement Buyer will be:
- Responsible for procuring mechanical parts such as: drives, gearboxes, traction motors, dampers, transmission equipment and suspension springs
- Performing administration duties effectively
- Negotiating Terms and Conditions of sub contracts with suppliers
- Work in conjunction with the legal department

THE PERSON

The ideal Procurement Buyer will have:
- 3-4 years previous buying experience
- Experience in Rail (Rolling Stock), Heavy Industry and Power Generation Equipment (not automotive)
- Worked within a large organisation
- Experience in procuring mechanical equipment (any experience with these particular products is a plus)
