The following opportunities now exist for Physicists/Scientists to join one of the nation’s largest high-technology research & development facilities:

PLASMA PHYSICIST

Assist the Plasma Physics Group’s activities in the innovation, design, development & calibration of existing or new experimental hardware & diagnostics.

You will be qualified to degree level in physics or a related subject.. v49a

SENIOR HUMAN FACTORS ANALYST

Provide a broad range of human factors activities to the design & assessment of major projects across the company.

Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a human sciences based subject, you will be a registered Member of the Ergonomics Society (or working towards membership). v49b

VACUUM TUBE MATERIALS SCIENTIST

Support the company’s capability to develop neutron tube designs by contributing expertise in forming & joining metal & ceramic components.

You will have experience of the selection & use of materials for ultra-high vacuum applications, high voltage applications &small-scale mechanical assemblies. v49b

METALLURGIST/MATERIALS SCIENTIST

Join a team of internationally acclaimed metallurgists / materials scientists providing a world class capability for the metallurgical & micro structural characterisation of special warhead materials.

You will be qualified to degree level or above in metallurgy/materials science. v49c

PULSED POWER SCIENTIST/ENGINEER

Become part of a team responsible for the development of Pulsed Power technology for radiography & hydrodynamics research.

You will be qualified to degree level or equivalent level in an appropriate scientific/engineering subject.

PRIMARY PHYSICIST

You will be responsible for the Mathematical Modelling of Physics Package Performance.

You must have a degree in chemistry, materials chemistry, materials science/engineering, metallurgy or physics.

SECONDARY PHYSICIST

You will contribute to research, development, component design, fabrication and production activities for warhead materials.

You must have a degree in chemistry, materials chemistry, materials science/engineering, metallurgy or physics.
