Sales - new business development

My Client Overhauls, Repairs, Services and maintains a wide range of equipment manufactured by their Group of companies including highly engineered centrifugal pumps, specialist wet wound motors and steam turbines.

In addition the company also overhauls repairs maintains and manufactures spare parts for equipment of ANY manufacture particularly in the Power, Petrochemical/Refinery and Offshore Oil & Gas market

The Role:

Business Development Engineer would be expected to:

•Develop, nurture and support existing and new overseas customers and appointed territory agents.
•Develop and maintain relationships with the engineers and decision makers within the above organizations.
•Be involved with the generation of sales plans and appropriate targets as part of the Overseas Development Team.
•Achieve the necessary purchase orders and contracts to fulfil agreed plans and targets.
•Prepare and generate quotations and other technical documents with some assistance from “in-house” personnel.
•Promote and report internally the products and initiatives required for achieving the short and long term plans of the Overseas Development Team.
•Plan cost effective overseas sales visits and respond to the occasional urgent travel requirements. Estimated one or two weeks per month required overseas.

Capabilities, experience and education:

The applicant would be expected to have the following capabilities and education:

•Successful history of Mechanical and / or Electrical engineering maintenance sales.
•Candidate WILL have experience in at least one of the following markets, Power, Refinery/Petrochemical and Oil & Gas
•Knowledge of the culture aspects of selling into a worldwide market.
•Capable of demonstrating previously achieving successful performance within a team environment.

Remuneration Package:

Package will include the following elements:
•Competitive basic salary dependant on experience
•Annual performance related bonus
•37 hour working week
•25 days annual holiday

•Car allowance

This role requires a sales engineer with a background in maintenance of rotating equipment that is looking to become an influential member of a successful, dynamic, forward thinking engineering services company.
