We require a Strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team in Leicester. Offering a Salary of between £30K - £40K depending on experience, Plus Bens.
The Purchasing Managers responsibilty is to direct and manage all purchasing activity of our business including the preparation & maintenance of the supplier database, ensuring that goods & services are appropriately procured in a cost effective & efficient manner, with controlled added value.
As Manager you will Maintain pro-active & close relationships with key suppliers, Manage the risks inherent in the purchasing activity and develop the purchasing strategy ensuring they are aligned with the business strategy. As Purchasing Manager you will meet regularly with key departmental heads to ensure the needs of the business are understood.
Assist Operational Managers & Directors in the budget process. And will be required to develop alternative links of supply where appropriate whilst monitor supplier’s performance in terms of quality, delivery & price. Our Purchasing Manager will set, monitor and manage the Quality systems from a Purchasing perspective and manages the Purchasing department physical and human resources ensuring that the highest level of procurement efficiency is maintained.
Our Purchasing Manager will ensure all items ordered are validly approved, delivered on time to the correct specifications and achieve the lowest price acceptable. Effective proactive liaison with other departmental heads as necessary to forecast, plan and to supply services as necessary and Identify areas where changes to buying policy can generate improved performance, price and waste.
We require our Purchasing Manager to be educated to degree level or at least 5 years working in a senior / management purchasing role.
Recognised qualification in Procurement & preferably CIP’s (Charted Institute of Purchasing). You will be computer literate MS Office Suite & Purchasing package and hold a driving licence. Negotiation skills are a must.
