A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join a customer-focused, innovative solutions-driven company which makes hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain.
As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer, reporting directly to the Area Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical performance in the specified areas of the plant.
In particular, you will determine with the Manufacturing Manager the operational and engineering priorities of the plant to optimise its performance for production and you will review engineering practices within the manufacturing area with a view to improving them to enhance engineering and plant performance. You will devise and implement a cost efficient plant maintenance strategy to meet manufacturing and statutory requirements and identify areas of improvement, submiting detailed applications for development. Moreover, you will manage development projects by identifying personnel development opportunities and devising training packages.
In addition, you will control weekly and annual maintenance and SRE budgets.
You will ensure that all engineering activities comply with professional, health, safety and environmental standards.
Ideally qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline, you should be highly motivated with experience of the tinplate process and have a sound practical knowledge of mechanical engineering with appropriate, relevant experience in a supervisory function.
