FUEL SYSTEMS ENGINEER – INJECTOR DEVELOPMENT
ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES
VANCOUVER, CANADA
An opportunity has arisen for a Fuel Systems Engineer to join a leading developer of environmental technologies that enable vehicles to operate on clean-burning alternative fuels.
This innovative company develops high-performance, fuel-efficient internal combustion engines and fuel systems for gaseous fuels such as natural gas and hydrogen and works closely with global automotive leaders to incorporate these technologies into their engines and to explore future commercial opportunities for clean vehicles.
As a Fuel System Design Engineer, you will apply your product design and development talents to advance and improve the design quality of both the company’s on-engine fuel systems components in their existing natural gas fuel systems and also in new product applications.
You will be involved throughout the design cycle, from original design and testing to field deployment, focused on one of the following areas; injectors, actuators, high pressure pumps and fuel conditioning modules. Working with development and manufacturing engineers to coordinate fabrication, inspection activities and follow-up, you will develop novel design approaches to extend product lines and reduce complexities.
Qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, you will have proven experience with precision component and or product design, preferably in the automotive industry (from concept to commercial product) and a strong understanding of APQP.
In-depth experience with dimensioning and tolerancing of high precision components plus a strong working knowledge of properties of materials and machining or manufacturing techniques is essential. You must also have hands-on experience with manufacturing design and assembly and you must be proficient in 3-D modeling software applications specifically, PRO-Engineer, modeling tools for FEA (ANSYS), hydraulic system design, thermodynamic modeling, and fluid dynamic modeling. You will have a proven ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and experience of high-pressure gas, hydraulics and diesel engine sub systems.
Relocation assistance will be provided for your move to Vancouver, the largest city in the province of British Columbia. The city is surrounded by water on three sides and is nestled alongside the Coastal Mountain Range. It is home to spectacular natural scenery and a bustling metropolitan core, and boasts one of the mildest climates in Canada.
