Whether you are a recent graduate or a senior engineer, opportunities now exist at all levels of experience for Fuel Systems Engineers, Current Product Support to join a leading developer of environmental technologies that enable vehicles to operate on clean-burning alternative fuels.

This innovative company develops high-performance, fuel-efficient internal combustion engines and fuel systems for gaseous fuels such as natural gas and hydrogen and works closely with global automotive leaders to incorporate these technologies into their engines and to explore future commercial opportunities for clean vehicles.

As Fuel Systems Engineer, Current Product Support, you will be an integral member of the Fuel Systems Engineering Team with the mandate of product support.

Your primary responsibilities will be current product support (CPS) and performance validation of fuel systems components – injector, fuel pumps and cryogenic LNG tanks and pumps. This will involve ensuring that all engineering changes meet the quality specifications of customers and leading the FIRG process to support the return of failed components and the analysis process and to drive improvements based on the information of specific component modules for vehicle integration packages.

In particular, you will be required to work closely with the manufacturer in the disposition and salvage of nonconforming material. You will also undertake design improvements to ensure ease of assembly and manufacturing of components as well as troubleshooting of products that fail end of line testing. You will work closely with the service organization to monitor warranty claims, identify emerging issues and conduct the analysis of failed parts that may be returned from the field with the purpose of identifying new failure modes. Moreover, you will make design changes to improve product reliability and then you will conduct validation testing to assure that those design changes are feasible. You will also carry out validation inspections of parts from new suppliers as well as supplier requested design changes. Finally, you will work closely with purchasing to identify cost improvement opportunities

Qualified to degree level in mechanical engineering, you will have experience of product support or component testing with a focus on fuel systems, hydraulic and or high pressure gas or cryogenic components.

For senior and leadership level positions, you must have strong demonstrable product support, field support or testing experience in product development. You will also have a background in the manufacture of mechanical engine, hydraulic or industrial equipment components and demonstrated product/process quality knowledge in QS9000 or ISO/TS-16949 guidelines, Six Sigma and APQP and PPAP knowledge.

Whatever your level of experience, you must have thorough and meticulous documentation skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also be familiar with industry product development, have had hands-on building experience with assembly and testing and be proficient with software applications specifically, PRO-Engineer and MS office.

Relocation assistance will be provided for your move to Vancouver, the largest city in the province of British Columbia. The city is surrounded by water on three sides and is nestled alongside the Coastal Mountain Range. It is home to spectacular natural scenery and a bustling metropolitan core, and boasts one of the mildest climates in Canada.
