Manufacturing Engineer - Medium-high volume Aerospace manufacturing environment
My client a world leading Aerospace manufacturer and is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer on a contract basis for engineering projects focused on scrap reduction, new production introduction and manufacturing process improvement within the factory whilst implementing standardisation’s. The candidate will have experience working in a lean manufacturing environment and will have experience of structured problem solving in a medium-high volume manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of 5S and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).
THE SALARY/RATE/BENEFITS
Manufacturing Engineer - Medium-high volume Aerospace manufacturing environment
•£22 - £30 / hour (LTD or Umbrella company arrangement)
•Start ASAP
•Initial 6 month contract
•Lots of overtime available
THE CANDIDATE
Manufacturing Engineer - Medium-high volume Aerospace manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL SKILL
•The Manufacturing Engineer will have a good understanding of engineering systems and methods
•Competent with 5s and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
•A strong character willing to implement change
•Experienced in scrap reduction
•Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
•The candidate will have experience using lean tools to reduce scrap and drive process improvement (e.g. process charts, value stream maps, pareto analysis, ishikawa diagrams, run diagrams, process control charts)
•New tooling design and commissioning
•Demonstrable experience of structured problem solving in a medium-high volume manufacturing environment
DESIRABLE SKILLS
•Aerospace industry experience preferable
•Previous composites/acrylic forming/coating knowledge is highly desirable
•Chemistry background would be beneficial
THE ROLE
Manufacturing Engineer - Medium-high volume Aerospace manufacturing environment
•The Manufacturing Engineer will be focused on scrap reduction, new production introduction and manufacturing process improvement within the factory
•Working in a Medium-high volume Aerospace Manufacturing Environment carrying out the following:
•Structured problem solving and data analysis
•Identification of the root cause of product defects, design and implementation of appropriate corrective action, and sustainment of improvements (RCCA)
•Utilizing lean tools to reduce waste such as kanban, kaizen and 5S
•Generation and implementation of standard operating procedures where necessary
•TPM implementation and support
•Machine/Process capability studies
•Specification of tooling and equipment to support production
