Informix DBA - Leeds - £35-45k + Benefits and Bonus

My client is a successful Online Gaming company based in the UK. Due to growing demands of the business they are currently looking to recruit a Informix Database Administrator to join their team in Leeds. They are offering a competitive Salary of c£40k + Fantastic Benefits.

As an Informix DBA you will manage all aspects of the Informix and MySQL databases to ensure the availability and performance of online services, ensuring an optimal customer experience at all times.

Responsibilities:
"Install, configure and test Informix and MySQL databases.
"Install, configure, test and maintain database management software, database utilities and products.
"Monitor database activity and all appropriate tools and ensure efficient access to data via optimisation.
"Implement, monitor and maintain database security and data integrity.
"Plan and implement procedures for backup and restore of databases.
"Ensures that database problems are investigated, diagnosed and resolved.
"Manage and control database resources. Plan for current and future storage requirements.
"Identify, specify and implement enhancements to existing Support services.
"Provide database and technical design capabilities to keep the database enterprise up-to-date.
"Work with 3rd parties to give guidance and provide database expertise.
"Knowledge of Database Management Systems operating on UNIX, Linux and Windows environments.

Proven ability:
"Proven ability of Informix Database Administration.
"Database tuning and capacity management and monitoring skills.
"Database replication.
"Data movement techniques.
"Backup and recovery using onbar.
"Database query optimisation skills.
"Good knowledge of Linux and Unix including shell scripting.

Desirable:
"In-depth proven ability of Networking principals.
"Proven ability of VMware VSphere, build and support.
"Understanding of Veritas Netbackup and Veritas Cluster.
"EMC storage technologies, including clones & SRDF.
"MySQL, SQL Server and/or Oracle RDBMS administration.
"Enterprise Replication.
"Understanding of Apache, Tomcat and CMS.
