Product Development Executive
Salary circa £20,000 + benefits
Based in Central London
Our client is the market-leading personal organiser brand with a long-standing reputation worldwide. They have over 80 years’ experience in the personal organisation market. Their strengths include attention to detail, innovation, quality and product functionality, and the brand represents distinctive style and craftsmanship.
They are now looking to recruit a high calibre Product Development Executive who can help shape the continued diversification of a world famous brand and maintain their position as market leaders worldwide.
The opportunity has arisen within the Product Development team in Central London for a highly motivated, proactive individual, with development skills, creativity and a keen commercial sense. Reporting to the NPD Manager your main objective will be to ensure that their range is relevant to the markets in which it is available, and to help the NPD Manager action the appropriate changes in order to achieve this.
As a Product Development Executive your main areas of responsibility will be:
- To monitor trends and future developments within the fashion and leather goods industry and translate to develop the final products with manufacturers in line with PD/Marketing feedback
- The organisation of any agreed upgrade of existing products and act upon quality concerns with existing materials features
- To originate and update product specification sheets for all new products and supply to all relevant staff, manufacturers and Quality control manager
- Ordering and control of all sample materials, within the agreed budget arranging on time final product photographic and selling samples
The ideal candidate for this role must have some experience in the product development process and be able to produce technical design details with knowledge of aesthetics. You must also have the following skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in the use of Corel Draw 9.0 or an equivalent graphics / CAD package.
- A hands-on approach
- The ability to plan, organise and implement design projects.
- Problem solving skills and careful attention to detail
- The ability to handle a demanding and pressured environment.
