BUSINESS OVERVIEW:

The Fans SCU currently has manufacturing facilities at three sites across the UK. The manufacturing of fan blades is strategically important and the company has recently invested £30m in capacity expansion at the WCFB facility in Barnoldswick, UK, to manufacture fan blades for civil engine programmes.

Further increases in future load requirements means additional expansion is required which is planned to take place in Singapore. As a result a vacancy exists for a ‘Facility & Infrastructure Planning Manager’. This role will play an important part in preparing for future expansion for future civil engine programmes and will report to the Programme Manager.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

This is a challenging opportunity for a high potential applicant to perform a key role in the creation and delivery of the next generation high technology manufacturing facility.

Role accountabilities will include:
• Lead the Facility and Infrastructure Work Stream for the project and ensure the delivery of associated Work Breakdown Structure.
• Provide the main Project Team interface with Group Property to co-ordinate all activities required to achieve the design and building of the new facility in line with requirements.
• Liaise with appointed Construction Project Managers to ensure delivery of building & infrastructure in line with project requirements.
• Co-ordinate creation of building and infrastructure cost and progress reports.
• Support and coordinate all building/utility changes across all Work Streams, particularly in relation to the provision of equipment related information.
• Provide liaison with HS&E team on legislative and environmental compliance.
• Identify and support delivery of synergy benefit opportunities from integrated approach to infrastructure and amenities with the Red Dot Assembly & Test facility.

You will need a good understanding of building design, construction, utilities, and site infrastructure. You will work closely with Group Property, external contractors, Procurement, consultants and the project team, drawing in relevant experience as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

You will be highly motivated and demonstrate a proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines and short timescales, able to work across functions within a team and have relevant experience in at least three of the following areas;

• Project Management
• Building Design and specification
• Construction methods
• Utility specification and installation
• Health, Safety and Environment
• Financial and schedule reporting

Knowledge of the aerospace manufacturing processes or similar will be an advantage.
