BUSINESS OVERVIEW:
The Fans SCU currently has manufacturing facilities at three sites across the UK. The manufacturing of fan blades is strategically important and the company has recently invested heavily in capacity expansion at the WCFB facility in Barnoldswick, UK, to manufacture fan blades for civil engine programmes.
Further increases in future load requirements means additional expansion is required which is planned to take place in Singapore. As a result a vacancy exists for an ‘Equipment Acquisition Work Stream Leader’. This role will play an important part in preparing for future expansion for future civil engine programmes and will report to the Programme Manager.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
This is a challenging opportunity for a high potential applicant to perform a key role in the planning, creation and delivery of the next generation high technology manufacturing facility.
Role accountabilities will include:
• Lead the Equipment Acquisition Work Stream for the project and ensure the delivery of associated Work Breakdown Structure
• Manage the acquisition, installation and commissioning of all equipment, tooling and ancillaries within declared cost and timescales, with required back-up support. This includes Clean Room structure and applicable Lab requirements
• Plan and liaise with relevant parties on the equipment installation and product and process validation activities
• Oversee implementation of Shop Floor and Business System IT solutions
• Manage cost, quality and time, reporting progress accordingly
• Ensure equipment operational performance in line with original business case, OEE etc.
• Ensure delivery of risk mitigation process development actions
• Ensure accuracy of Blue Book
• Ensure delivery of Central Services Area strategy
You will need a good understanding of equipment acquisition, installation and commissioning, IT and managing significant projects. You will work closely with external suppliers, Procurement, wider project team, Group Property, IT CoCs and HS&E, drawing in relevant experience as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You will be highly motivated and demonstrate a proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines and short timescales, able to work across functions within a team and have relevant experience in at least three of the following areas;
• Project Management
• Equipment Acquisition
• Equipment Installation and Commissioning
• Significant capital projects
• IT systems and infrastructure
• Clean Rooms
• Tooling and ancillaries
Knowledge of the aerospace manufacturing processes or similar will be an advantage.
