Our client is a global leader in gas detection,providing flame detection, industrial hazard safety solutions and hazard mitigation systems

They are based in the U.S with other main offices in the UK and Singapore. In all they have 18 worldwide sales offices and another 76 distribution outlets worldwide.

The Role:
Coordinate strategy with senior management for all after sales activities in the region.
Formulate all sales support, customer service and field service policies and manage their implementation to ensure achievement of goals.
Prepare and manage the implementation of agreed overhead budgets and expenses.
Manage the financial affairs for compliance with statutory regulations.

This position has statutory obligations and responsibilities as an Officer of both UK and European subsidiaries

a.Manage the sales order processing and technical support functions in the region (including France and Germany).
1.Prepare specific sales plans derived from the orders plans developed for the sales organisation
2.Monitor the results of the sales programmes in the different offices and take required actions.
3.Prepare departmental or regional expense budgets and forecasts.
4.Ensure that all orders, customer problems and other communications are promptly and accurately handled.

b.Establish and maintain senior level contacts with management of existing or potential customers and influencers, EPC contractors, suppliers and other stake holders
1.Undertake joint sales calls on key accounts
2.Undertake due diligence in establishing key suppliers
3.Participate in trade association and code-making groups to represent the interests of the company.

c.Establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements with respect to Health & Safety and Ethics
1.Maintain an awareness of changes in policies and regulations and implement changes accordingly
2.Manage periodic reviews and routine compliance meetings
3.Appoint representatives to manage aspects of the policy
4.Coordinate EH&S activity representatives
5.Ensure awareness and compliance with the Corporate policy on ethics

d.Establish the organisation structure required to achieve the corporate goals in the region
1.Gain Senior Management approval for changes
2.Define job functions
3.Supervise any recruitment activity and agree the appointment of new employees throughout the region
4.Implement any structural changes required such as Reductions in Force.

e.Report all financial performance and results
1.Ensure all weekly and monthly reports of results are provided on time.
2.Coordinate the activities undertaken for the financial.
3.Coordinate the outsourced activity for financial reporting.
4.Manage and coordinate any changes in these activities.

f.Any other duties as assigned

The Successful Candidate:
a.Technical
1.Technical or Business degree with sales background, or 5 years of equivalent work experience, including successful experience as manager. Must possess a high level of maturity and exercise sound judgement in all dealings in associations with customers.

b.Commercial
1.Must have a qualification in financial management such as MBA, or undertaken adequate training in this area of expertise to understand the P&L accounts and Balance Sheets of the company and the impact changes and actions will have on the profitability of the companies under his/her control.

c.Computer and numeracy skills
1.Must be literate in the use of MS Office products and able to produce high quality documents such as spreadsheets, letters and presentations
2.Must be able to analyse the business using established metrics

d.Written/verbal skills
1.Must have excellent communication skills and an open attitude for continuous improvement.

e.Work ethic
1.Ability to perform under stress and meet guidelines, to work cooperatively and respectfully with others, to work (when necessary) overtime and over weekends, to come to work promptly and regularly, and have the ability to take and follow instructions is essential.
2.Must be able to perform essential job functions safely and work within established company guidelines.
3.Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% of the time. Foreign travel is an essential part of the job.
