DB2 DBA - London - Online Gaming Industry - £45k-£65k

My client is a leading global Online Gaming and Gambling company that owns a range of successful gaming sites. In this ever competitive industry they have impressive growth and now have an opportunity for a DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to join them at their London office.

Due to continued growth, my client plans to hire a DB2 Database Administrator to join their IT Operations team. You will need to possess solid relational database skills as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will take responsibility for the operation of the mission-critical database servers.

Responsibilities:

- Administration of 24x7 mission-critical DB2 production database servers.
- Performing data migrations.
- Maintaining stored procedures, functions and triggers.
- Database backup and recovery.
- Troubleshooting of database issues.
- Monitoring of database usage and tuning systems to optimize performance.
- Maintaining database security.
- Administration of software development and QA database servers.

Proven Ability:

- 5+ years DB2 DBA proven ability in a Linux/Unix environment, including knowledge and comfort with command line and shell scripts.
- 5+ years proven ability writing SQL and shell scripts.
- Solid proven ability in database tuning.
- Proven ability with database backup and recovery.
- Knowledge of DB2 UDB (9.1/9.5/9.7) on a Linux system.
- DB2 Certification would be a huge advantage.
- Oracle, MySQL, Informix, Postgres and MS SQL Server administration knowledge is an asset.
