Principal DB2 DBA - London - c£70k + Benefits and Bonus

My client is a leading Gaming operator working across the World for over 15 years. They are a highly successful organisation which has gone from strength to strength and increased the portfolio of offerings. In this ever competitive industry they have impressive growth plans and now have an opportunity for a DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to join them in Central London.

Due to continued growth, my client is seeking a DB2 Database Administrator to join their Database team. You will need to possess solid relational database skills as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will take responsibility for the operation of the mission-critical database servers.

Responsibilities:
- Administration of 24x7 mission critical DB2 production database servers.
- Performing data migrations.
- Maintaining stored procedures, functions and triggers.
- Database backup and recovery.
- Troubleshooting of database issues.
- Monitoring of database usage and tuning systems to optimise performance.
- Maintaining database security.
- Administration of software development and QA database servers.

Proven Ability:
- 5+ years proven ability as a DB2 DBA on AIX.
- 5+ years proven ability writing SQL and shell scripts.
- Solid knowledge in database tuning.
- Proven ability with database backup and recovery.
- Proven ability with DB2 UDB.
- DB2 Certification would be a huge advantage.
- MS SQL Server administration knowledge is an asset.

Proven exposure to HADR would be beneficial.
