System Tester / QA – South West London

An exciting opportunity to join a rapidly-growing company in the Finance sector, based in South West London. We are seeking an experienced system tester with a background in home finance or insurance to assist with ambitious growth plans for the coming years. You will help to deliver a market-leading web-based service for customers, using leading-edge technologies.

This is a varied role which will extend beyond the usual domain of system testing, and will include the following responsibilties:

Preparation of test scripts and plans for new releases of applications or application components (including custom-built and third-party software).

Testing of applications and application components Providing input and guidance to developers and user test teams in test disciplines.

Preparation of test data and test platforms, including: Setup of test databases & loading of necessary test data (SQL Server 2005).

Installation of third-party software applications & related components Management of outstanding issues with all applications - including tracking of their status and follow-up with vendors if necessary.

Acting as an internal specialist/consultant in the use of the in-house policy administration system Dealing with issues arising from the use of the policy administration system, and providing advice and problem diagnosis for users Providing feedback to the development team on system issues where necessary Servicing information/query requests from the policy administration database.

You will have a minimum of 5 years experience of system testing, a background in home insurance systems, and solid experience in the following areas: - Testing of web-based systems - Preparation of system test plans and scripts - Good all-round technical skills - Self-sufficiency in setting up test environments, databases and files - Database manipulation using SQL - Basic use of SQL Server 2000/2005 backup and restore facilities.
