Senior SQL Server Database Administrator / DBA – Birmingham

A market leading company in the insurance, support systems and technology solutions arena is looking to recruit an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator, DBA to be based in prestigious offices in the Birmingham area. You will be responsible for all aspects of production DBA work including reporting, data imports / exports / extracts. Development of reporting tools including Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services and OLAP. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate at least 5 years commercial experience of managing a world class Microsoft SQL Server datacenter database environment.

To be considered for this role you will offer solid commercial experience in SQL Server administration with MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005. Ideally with a MCDBA certification, you will likely have proven experience designing and managing systems. Your experience should include technical skills in T-SQL, DTS, Server Installation and Configuration. Your administration skills will include Performance Tuning, Security, Capacity Planning, and Backup & Recovery, SQL Agent and SQL Server automation.

This is a varied hands-on role where you will be involved in some project leading and database consultancy. You will ensure the integrity, stability & availability of the SQL Server Databases.

Salary will be dependant on experience but is likely to be in the £45,000 to £50,000 range plus a full benefits package.
