* Includes overseeing/advising on UML modelling
* Maintaining/advising on model structures
We are keen to hear from EXPERIENCED SOFTWARE ARCHITECTS with skills as follows:
* Extensive knowledge of Object Oriented (OO) Analysis & Design
- Application of Unified Modelling Language (UML)
- Model-driven development
- Some of Java, C++, GUI, XML, RDBMS
* Good communication skills/able to work in a large team
* Able to work with Systems as well as Software perspective
* Significant use/exp of UML & software development, using defined, controlled processes
- Architecture/High Level Design exp on large projects
- Configuration Management
* Use of Configuration Management Tools, particularly ClearCase
* Network Management
* Satcomms
* Investigation, Specification & use of COTS products as part of solution
* Knowledge of Baseband & IP Networks
* Knowledge of Modem & RF, particularly Thales 21, DVB & TMS Modems
ROLE DETAILS: Architectural/Detailed Design uses an Object-Oriented design approach, using UML notation supported by a UML tool. Implementation technologies include Java & SQL. Significant use will be made of 3rd-party COTS products, together with Web-Based reporting & interfacing. Configuring of these COTS products also requires design & implementation of transactions with underlying relational database mechanisms
* The SENIOR SOFTWARE ARCHITECT will technically review/manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring best practise process & techniques are deployed throughout design, implementation & testing, & appropriate metrics utilised to control & monitor the integrity & maintainability of the technical solution. Conventional & Agile development lifecycle models will be used & full configuration management of all versions/variants will be maintained using the ClearCase/ClearQuest tools
