Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery / Backup Engineer – Birmingham

A successful, high profile company in the insurance sector are looking to recruit an Engineer responsible for Backup, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery to be based in Birmingham.

You will be responsible for the enterprise backup solution, the testing and restoration of data, and the availability of the business continuity plan.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated and have relevant professional qualifications / certifications and have the following experience;

•Solid commercial exposure to Commvault Galaxy Enterprise. (Will also consider candidates with significant experience in other enterprise backup solutions).
•Experience in the design and testing of Disaster Recovery scenarios.
•Understanding of SAN’s (Cisco MDS ideally) and LAN free backup solutions.
•Good grounding in enterprise storage (ideally HDS).
•Experienced with NDMP backups ideally with NAS such as NetApp and Onstor.
•An understanding of VMWare integration and archiving along with context indexing.
•Backup requirements – Exchange, SQL, Win 2003, Linux and ESX.
•Understands Cluster Technologies and restoration of these systems.
Salary is negotiable dependant on experience and qualifications but in the region of £28,000 to £30,000k.

The role will suit individuals currently working as a Senior Engineer, Business Continuity Consultant, Network Engineer, Disaster Recovery Engineer, IT Manager, Systems Administrator, Backup Engineer, Network Analyst and living within a commutable distance of West Midlands, Warwickshire, Birmingham, Coventry, Tamworth, Staffordshire or be willing to relocate.
