My client carries out innovative research to advance commercial plant breeding by using the latest cutting edge genetic and statistical technologies.

As a scientific software engineer you will be responsible for the extension of the company’s platform and the development, implementation and testing of their commercially available suites. You will have the opportunity to work on a large variety of projects from extending the foundations of the framework to developing innovative visualisations. Joining a small but highly experienced team you will be creating high quality software for genetics support and analysis over at least three suites for internal, national and international customers.
The ideal candidate will have a Bsc degree in computer science, mathematics or related discipline. You will have solid experience with OO Programming (preferably (VB).NET or Java) with extensive knowledge of client-side programming. Basic knowledge of process optimisation or an interest in InfoVis, Human-computer interaction and software engineering techniques (a.o. design patterns) will be highly desirable.
