You will manage waste and recycling issues affecting the business’ products at European level. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, you will identify opportunities for voluntary activities and business development. A secondary element of the job will be to provide additional resource within the team at times of peak workload.
You will have detailed knowledge of European waste and recycling legislation affecting electrical/electronic products (i.e. WEEE, Packaging, Batteries, Trans-shipment Directives), along with experience of ensuring compliance with relevant legislation in a multi-national company or on a consultancy basis. Your negotiation skills will be excellent and you should be confident when developing and putting forward the company’s position at external meetings. You will have the ability to understand complex legislation and influence future policy development. Experience of working with European nationalities and cultures is required, along with preparedness to travel within Europe as needed (within reason).
