We have recently been commissioned by our client to headhunt for a Steam Turbine Engineer.
Our client, one of the UK’s leading energy suppliers based in Nottinghamshire is looking for a suitably qualified engineer to join a professional team with experience in providing technical support on steam turbines in one or more of the following areas: Plant status reviews; maintenance and replacement strategies; inspection, repair and maintenance; failure investigations and assessments; integrity assessments; component design / redesign; flexible operation and damage limitation studies; new and retrofit plant specification.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong technical focus in the area of steam turbines to join a leading energy company. As Steam Turbine Engineer, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have experience in the technical support areas described. Interpersonal skills that build and maintain effective customer relationships are essential for this role. You will also be able to deliver tasks effectively both within a team and independently. You will possess drive, energy and commitment with a history of delivering to tight deadlines. Furthermore, you will take an innovative approach to problem solving with a flare for continuous improvement. You will also be keen to tackle new problems and not just those they have experienced before.
Qualified to degree level, or holding equivalent relevant work-based experience in an engineering discipline, you will also be a Chartered Engineer, or have qualifications leading to Chartered status. It will also be an advantage to have understanding of areas such as steam turbine auxiliaries and balance of plant equipment.
