ELECTRIC MOTORS

Our client, a world leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors and revolutionary new wheel motors for the automotive and allied industries is now looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer for their offices in Hampshire. In this role you will support the system-level specification, design, analysis and characterisation of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles based on their in-wheel motor technology.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, your responsibilities will include producing detailed reference design specifications for deployment of the company’s technology in electric and hybrid electric vehicles of various types. You will develop models and produce estimated performance data for different classes of vehicles based on their technology as well as define system-level testing on their test vehicles. The Senior Systems Engineer will also work with customers to assist with system-level design issues and produce market requirement specifications for enhancements to their products from a system-level perspective based on feedback from customers, modelling and testing.

Successful candidates will hold a good degree or equivalent in an appropriate scientific / engineering discipline. Significant experience in electronics at a systems level is essential. Experience in system-level modelling techniques would be an advantage. Automotive experience and experience with electric vehicles and CAN bus experience is also very desirable.
