A Senior Applications Engineer/Team Leader is now required by our client to support the early stage customer interaction with pre-sales technical support. In this role you will provide customer requirements into engineering teams and support installation of this company’s motors and control systems into customer development vehicles. Our client, based in Hampshire is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors and revolutionary new wheel motors for the automotive and allied industries.

Reporting to the Software, Systems and Applications Vice-President, as Senior Applications Engineer/Team Leader your responsibilities will include producing detailed customer requirement specifications for deployment of their technology in electric and hybrid electric vehicles of various types. You will define system-level testing on customer development vehicles and support vehicle system integration. Furthermore, you will work with customers to assist with system-level design issues and produce market requirement specifications for enhancements to their products from a system-level perspective based on feedback from customers, modelling and testing.

Successful candidates will require a good degree in an appropriate scientific / engineering discipline or equivalent qualification. Significant experience of HV systems and hybrid vehicles is essential. Experience in system-level modelling techniques would be an advantage as would automotive experience. Experience with electric vehicles and CAN bus experience would be very desirable for this role. Previous customer facing engineering role would also be advantageous.
