Location- this position is based in South Yorkshire but will require travel including overseas travel to attend client sites

My client is part of a multi-national group who serve and supply the Oil and Gas, Nuclear Power, Power and Water industries with bespoke mechanical systems including large pumps, pumping systems and valves. They have been established for over 300 years and the quality of their work and the quality of the manufacturers products they supply has given them a very enviable reputation in the market.

As a result of an internal career advancement the need has arisen to bring in a new highly skilled Project Manager into their thriving projects department.

Role
You will be tasked with managing high value (often multi million pound) projects for a range of blue chip clients. You will pick up a project from ‘placed order’ stage and then have to take it through the full cycle through to client handover. Typically the first stage will be liaising with the client and internal departments to define the spec and then brief the departments on the work needed.

The next stage will be planning the resources which will be needed for the projects and coordinating these to ensure they coincide with timescales set for the project. You will also have to ensure that the project runs to budget, time, quality and to the satisfaction of the client. Lastly you will liaise with client, inspectors and expeditors to ensure the work meets standards and the initially agreed spec before handover.

Person
This role would suit a graduate with a few years direct industry experience in a PM role. However an experienced, skilled PM from the industry who would like to work for a reputable company would also be looked on favourably. In any case you will be someone who has a good understanding of these products and a grasp of the markets they serve as a business.

In addition you must be someone who is very commercially astute, presents exceptionally well and someone who can communicate very effectively and confidently both face to face and over the phone.

Lastly my client is looking for someone with a genuine ‘can-do’ attitude; someone who exudes confidence and someone who above all else get things done.
