Production Engineer
The company specialises in the design and of large bespoke pumps and electric motors for the power, oil & gas and defence industries.
The Role
As Production Engineer the applicant would be expected to:
” Structure and plan new assemblies on a MRP based system.
” Maintain and improve component manufacturing methods
” Creation of CNC programs for both CNC milling and turning centres
” Design of all tooling to support the selected manufacturing methods
” Liaison with Design Engineering function to secure cost reduction in overall component manufacture
” Resolution of day to day shop problems
Capabilities, experience and education
The applicant would be expected to have the following capabilities and education:
” Ideally apprenticeship trained with a minimum of four years experience in a Production Engineering role.
” Fully conversant with all aspects of machining, fitting and welding.
” Educated to a minimum of ONC or equivalent preferable in mechanical or production engineering.
” Knowledge and experience in any of the following areas would also be advantageous:
o Electric motors
o Pumps
o Rotating equipment
o Experience of working within an ISO accredited company

This role requires a strong personality with an eye for the detail aspects of manufacturing who will be able operate in a team as well as on own initiative. In addition this role will require an individual who is flexible and willing to be involved in improvement activities. Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in a production engineering role.
