As a Principal Safety Engineer within their Aberdeen office, you would have direct responsibility for maintaining and developing local client relationships with the major operators and engineering companies that are their core business. Your typical assignments would include project support, ongoing asset safety support or local client secondments. You would be expected to liaise with other groups and departments to provide an integrated solution to the client. This may include process, dynamic simulation, structural, CFD, reliability, environmental, human factors etc.

You would also be expected to act as Project Manager on these jobs, in charge of a team of engineers and reporting directly to the Head of Department. Your proven business and technical skills mean that you will be able to contribute to developing the numerous business activities that are provided to the Oil and Gas industry.

You will have a good degree in an engineering discipline and be of Chartered Engineer status or equivalent. You will be a Safety professional with a substantial level of oil and gas safety experience and strong business development/management skills. As an experienced line and project manager you will have excellent report writing, presentation skills and have delivered all aspects of safety engineering, risk assessment, risk management and Safety Cases.

You will possess exemplary technical competence in all areas of risk analysis and risk management (HAZID, QRA, FEA, reliability and availability) along with practical safety case skills and authoring ALARP documentation. You will be self-motivating, with the ability to supervise a team of safety engineers and understand operations and integrity interfaces and have a good appreciation of clients’ business risk drivers.
