This established Medical Devices consultancy specialises in providing engineering services to highly reputable organisations throughout the world.

They now seek a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead a team.

These clients are from the Automotive, Healthcare and defence industries. Due to recent expansion they now have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Design Engineer to join their highly experienced team in Cambridge.

As the Principal Design Engineer, you will be responsible for taking the lead role in the design and delivery in the field of drug delivery products and Medical Devices. This role will require you to utilise your mechanical engineering and CAD skills to the development of world leading medical products.

Other duties within this role will include:
- Delivering projects to tight timescales and budgets
- Overseeing and advising junior engineers on implementation
- Generation concepts and layouts of systems in CAD
- Producing detailed drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Writing technical reports and producing design documentation.

The suitable candidate will ideally be educated to a Degree level (or equivalent) within an engineering discipline. You will also have previous experience of working as a Senior Design Engineer within the Medical Device industry. Experience of working with Pro Engineer, Solidworks and CAD is required for this role.
