BASED WEST GLAMORGAN
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Support Technician to join the Steel and Slab department of a customer-focused, innovative solutions-driven company which makes hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain.
Reporting to the Maintenance Planning and Systems Manager a Planning Engineer is now required to plan the maintenance of equipment, repairs, replacement of spares and co-ordination of contracts. Your role will be to agree planned maintenance, down day and shutdown schedules with line managers to ensure continuity of production and to maximize plant availability. You will operate and review engineering planning computer systems and regularly review and monitor spares usage.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering you will have previous experience within an operational environment. Ideally you will have Blast Furnace process knowledge, however any experience of MS Project, SAP, COMAH sites or process improvement techniques such as 5S will prove highly advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planning Engineer to be responsible for an effective planning and spares system for the specific area of responsibility against the annual budget.
