We are seeking applications form degree qualified Mechanical Handling Engineers with some relevant industry experience to join our Nuclear Decommissioning and Clean-up team based in North Bristol. This consultancy has been involved in the nuclear industry for over forty years, creating a sound experience base and considerable knowledge across the entire nuclear fuel cycle. This experience has been gained across the entire life-cycle of nuclear facilities (i.e. feasibility studies, optioneering, design, commissioning, operation, modification and decommissioning).
You should ideally possess experience in the design of mechanical handling equipment within glove boxes, mechanical handling systems for fissile material, nuclear rated cranes and lifting equipment, remote control vehicles and handling systems or waste handling and processing systems. You should also be well versed in project management, including controls, planning and estimating and preparation of deliverable/work package documentation and working within a multi-discipline engineering team and having a general appreciation of other disciplines’ constraints and requirements.
Ideally you will be of Chartered status or working towards this with experience in the civil or military nuclear industry including NII site license conditions and the constraints placed on site operations including project implementation.
Candidates will need to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance and should also be willing to undergo a security vetting process.
