This Position is commutable from the following locations: Wakefield, Leeds, Ossett, Pontefract, Castleford, Normanton, Batley, Dewsbury, Bradford, Mirfield and Liversedge

The Company
My client is a well established chemical manufacturer and supplier located in the heart of West Yorkshire. They are owned by a European company and have recently enjoyed a sustained period of growth and success due to integrating with another business.

The Role
You will be tasked with providing the mechanical expertise and completing mechanical work in connection with project work that is carried out on site. This will include overseeing and supervising any contractors present on site and checking the mechanical integrity of their work.

In addition you will be tasked with some mechanical design duties including stress/ loading and strain calculations as well as devising specs for the new kit needed. This will entail deciding which kit will needed; what sizes will be needed and when it will be needed by.

As well as that you will be proficient with Cad and able to draw up basic layout drawings detailing project work pending. You will also be the mechanical authority on site when in HAZOP meetings. This is a 360 degrees role requiring someone who can oversee projects from planning through to commissioning and handover.

The Person
You must be someone who has a degree in a mechanical discipline coupled with industry experience to be successful in this role. In addition you will be a proven mechanical engineer from a Chemical background and be someone who has strong experience in this field.

As well as that you will be someone who is conversant with AutoCad and someone who has a strong understanding of project lifecycles. Likewise you must be someone who can run projects successfully, this means you will work well under pressure; communicate effectively and be someone who can work well to deadlines.
