A Mechanical Design Engineer or Graduate Mechanical Engineer, with strong Pro Engineer experience, is sought by a leading high technology manufacturer to work at main offices in Southampton, Hampshire. You should have a strong Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, and good commercial Mechanical Design / Productisation experience.
You will carry out Mechanical Design and Product Design tasks for a range of innovative products. This will include the design of mechanical assemblies and components for products, using Pro Engineer. You will implement robust, practical, cost-effective mechanical designs, turning prototypes into commercial products.
Managing Mechanical Design projects for bespoke design through to manufacture, testing and debugging, this role requires someone with experience in composites, Steel or resins, and experience including a range of manufacturing methods for metals and polymers as well as cost estimation experience would be advantageous.
You will ideally have a Degree (Or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, followed by strong mechanical design experience in a commercial environment. You will be able to understand a problem, rapidly suggest and test solutions, which ultimately result in robust, well-engineered, products.
Role based in the Southampton area of Hampshire, close to the motorway, and easily commutable from locations such as Portsmouth, Fareham, Winchester, Gosport, Havant, Dorset. Likely to pay in the region of £27,500 for a recent graduate to £38,000 for an experienced engineer plus a world beating benefits package.
