MATERIALS ENGINEER / HERTFORDSHIRE / £NEG

* World leader seeks a Materials Engineer to provide materials, mechanical parts & processes engineering support to their business unit projects
* In this key position, you will contribute to the Materials & Processes team’s mission of assuring the quality of materials & processes
* You will report to the Materials Engineering Manager
- We are keen to hear from MATERIALS ENGINEERS with experience of working in a controlled, high technology environment. You must also have:
- Specialist materials & processes knowledge in relevant fields such as: electronics technology , composites materials & processes for structural use, soldering & SMT, printed circuit boards, welding, metal finishing, metallurgy, paints, coatings & adhesives
- Good interpersonal skills/communication & presentation capability; Open & flexible
- Customer & results oriented
- Facilitation skills for leading problem solving & risk analysis
- Able to work with minimum supervision
The challenges of this varied MATERIALS ENGINEERING role include:
* Being the responsible Materials Engineer for one or more project/product teams; Single contact point for the resolution of all materials & processes issues
* Satisfying internal customers through application of specialist materials & processes knowledge
* Assuring performance of planned activities, on time & with respect to the governing product assurance requirements
* Instigating/managing to completion materials & processes selection, development, evaluation & qualification programmes
* Participating in risk reviews at all stages of product design, development & manufacture, ensuring that materials & processes risk retirement plans are carried through
* Preparing declared materials & processes lists & ensure that adequate materials & processes qualification has been achieved by CDR
