Our client is looking for a Proposals Engineer to support the Sales Department to complete bid process including costings, risk analysis etc.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Proposals Engineer, qualified in engineering, with experience of managing large complex bids in the commercial oil and gas markets. Ideally with knowledge of costing large bespoke fabricated structures.

JOB PURPOSE:
* The Proposals Engineer’s function is to lead the production of comprehensive and competitive offer’s in order to meet the company’s business objectives and to satisfy customer’s
requirements.
KEY DUTIES:
1. Manage the preparation of bids for projects valued up to 10m or more.
2. Liaise with the Engineering Department to ensure an efficient and cost effective process design.
3. Develop detailed cost estimates that incorporate all the costs associated with the tender including manpower levels, vendor selection, customer design specification, design codes, installation consideration, materials of construction, fabrication, logistics, equipment selection, transport requirements, electrics, etc.
4. Liaise with Sales in order to ensure that all commercial conditions relating to the proposals are understood and accurately addressed.
5. Assist in the production of the final offer document, incorporating sections prepared by the other departments.
6. Co-ordinate the activities of other departments to achieve bid submission deadlines including Engineering, Projects, Purchasing, Sales etc.
7. Keep Sales Management informed of issues with progress of bids.
8. Review new enquires to assess scope, technical and commercial issues and to estimate effort required to prepare an offer.
9. Call and minute bid kick-off and review meetings for target proposals.
10. Prepare detailed cost estimates for the offers, issuing enquires and specification to suppliers as required, evaluating responses and preparing bid tabulations.
11. When bids are being prepared that involve more than one office in, lead multi-office teams or support other offices as required.
12. Assist and support Sales in preparation for pre and post tender discussions and negotiations.
13. Be aware of the costs and design features of existing projects and their influence on new quotations.
14. Any other duties deemed reasonable and within the capability of the jobholder.
About the Candidate:
* Qualified & Experienced engineer
* Must be presentable and have good interpersonal skills, as you will be the front line of securing new works.
Employment Conditions:
Hours of work will be based on a normal five day working week of 37 hrs between 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday
and 08:00 - 12:00 Friday.
Holiday entitlement is 33 days per annum including all statutory and public holidays.
