Service Engineer/Engine Technician
£25-27k + Private Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Annual Bonus (10-15% of
salary)
Contract - £16-20 per hour
The Client
My client is a leading player within the renewable energy sector. Supported by
government legislation, to increase our consumption of energy from renewable
sources, they are in the enviable position of having a business plan that
assures growth over the next 20 years. To support this they are looking to add
to their 400+ workforce by recruiting Engine Technicians. Contract and
permanent roles are available throughout the UK immediately.
The Role
In your capacity as an Engine Technician you will cover your region and be
required to repair and maintain V16 and V20 biogas reciprocating engines,
mostly Caterpillar and Jenbacher. This will involve working to a computerised
maintenance system and complex troubleshooting. This is a mechanically
biased role that will require some electrical skills.
The Candidate
Candidates must have a strong mechanical skill set and expertise in the repair
and maintenance of large reciprocating engines. Successful candidates have
historically come from marine, armed forces and energy/power generation
backgrounds. A full driving license is essential due to mobile nature of this role
and candidates must have a flexible approach.
The Benefits
Candidates for this position will receive a starting salary of £25-27k. An annual
bonus based on company performance is also paid and this is typically 10-15%
of your salary. You also get a call-out bonus and are guaranteed to earn over
£30k. All employees get life assurance, 25 days holiday and a 6% pension

them self. This role also provides a fully expensed company van, laptop and
mobile phone.
Contractors are paid between £16-20 per hour and are expected to provide
their own tools, with specialist tools provided. Company vans are available or
you can use your own vehicle and claim mileage.
