Electronics Development Engineers are now required to cover all aspects of product development from concept through to product release. Typically this role will involve detailing specifications, circuit design, modelling, breadboard design, liaison with PCB designers, product testing, product approvals and technical documentation.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Experience with battery driven motor drives and H-bridge and 3 phase bridge configurations is required. You will also need an understanding of brushless motor operation, as well as experience of DC power – Battery and safety systems and of designing for automotive applications – components and standards. Experience of schematic capture tools – Cadstar or equivalent and PCB layout tools – Cadstar or equivalent is necessary. Good Project management skills and the ability to undertake multiple projects are also required.
Further experience also necessary includes designing for EMC and EMC testing and certification; system level development and testing and embedded control systems.

In this role you will work closely with software / mechanical engineers and production technicians. You will also need knowledge of Infineon XC series microcontrollers; safety critical systems development; design principles and manufacturing requirements for large scale production of electronic modules. Software skills for use of microprocessors in both products and test equipment are also required.

A self starter who can work with minimal supervision, you will help to support current product manufacturing in problem areas (design & process). An awareness of designing for harsh environments would also be useful.
