As the Release Engineer you will lead a function within projects for the technical delivery of the workscope. This will include leading a team of CAD based Designers and Engineers to deliver technical solutions to project teams within required cost, quality and time targets. The Release Engineer will have overall responsibility for the timing of releases to the agreed standard to meet the needs of the project, client and supplier.

As Electrical Design/Release Engineer your role will include the preparation of concept information at the early stages of projects to assist in supplier selection, cost and BOM activities. You will lead feasibility support to styling activities around clay models, package and surface development as well as provide support to the project team in the generation of the Engineering Timing Release Schedule (ETRS) and track progress relative to the ETRS and identifying and taking actions in order to achieve target dates.

Furthermore you will provide technical direction to the CAD designers including the creation, technical sign-off and release of component drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, installation drawings and data packs including DVP’s and FMEA’s to support project requirements. In addition, you will provide support to the purchasing function in the selection of vendors and transmittal of engineering information to downstream users as required.

On a more general departmental level the Release Engineer will provide support to the department and the Chief Engineer to develop and implement vehicle engineering processes. Also representing the engineering function to clients, potential clients, other areas of the company if required, which will include assistance in generating planning and proposal information if required.

On occasion there will be a requirement for working off site, including international travel, and the individual will be required to represent the business at client visits and presentations.
