Civil Engineer – New Build Biomass Projects

Location: Swindon or North Lincolnshire

Salary - up to £45K DOE + Excellent Benefits

A great opportunity to join a leading UK & International Power Generation Company that is seeking to recruit a Biomass Civil Engineer in their commitment to generating electricity using sustainable, environmentally friendly resources.  With a very interesting portfolio of Renewable Energy projects in the pipeline, one particular major project is for the construction of a Biomass Facility in North Lincs. 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading the development of specifications for Civil works which may be split in to the following packages: -

•           Site offices, temporary fencing and laydown compound

•           Outfall drain, circulation pipework and initial landscaping works

•           Site strip, hardcore mat and piling works

•           Drainage, foundations and support structures

•           Buildings, domestic services and HVAC

•           Site roads, car parking and hardstanding

•           Site securtiy

You will also be tasked with reviewing of tenders and selectioni of Civil contractors, review and checking of relevant site works and specifications and provide feedback/advice to the Construction Manager, Claims Manager and Engineering Manager.

To be considered, you will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a Civil/Structural discipline and have good experience of managing multi-disciplinary Engineering teams in the Power Generation, Power Station, Biomass, Energy from Waste or Process industries.  As a person you will be an effective communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate at a high level.  Headquartered in Swindon and the main project located in North Lincs, there is flexibility over location and candidates will be considered that do not wish to relocate to Swindon. 

This role attracts a salary range of £30K - £45K DOE with an exceptional benefits package including 15% annual bonus scheme, car allowance, private healthcare for you and your family, contributory pension, as well as educational benefits and voucher schemes.
