Field Service Engineer (Food/Packaging)
£28k + £10k overtime + Car + Laptop + Mobile + Private Healthcare + Pension + 25 Days Holiday

The Company
This organisation has a global presence, and is the leading provider of packaging machinery for the food and medical markets. Their head quarters are based in Europe and their UK operation, which focuses on sales and service, generates a turnover in excess of £20m. A key objective for the business, as they go through a period of growth in the next 3 years, is increasing their revenue from after-sales service. To support this a number of exceptional opportunities have become available in the Midlands, South East and on the M62 corridor.

The Role
You will be required to work independently for the majority of your time. There is a 50/50 split between breakdowns and service and you will also be a part of the installation and commissioning team. The ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical and pneumatic faults is a key part of this role. Most days you will be based at one site for the entire day, although multi-site days should be expected. You will be based from home and have regular communication with the head office.

The Candidate
Candidates for this position must have excellent fault finding skills on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems. Recognised qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, ONC or HNC are essential. A customer focused mentality, the ability to work well under pressure, excellent organisational skills and a willingness to be flexible are key attributes candidates must possess. Previous experience as a Service Engineer or experience in the food and packaging sector will be a distinct advantage.

The Benefits
Candidates for this position will receive a starting salary of up to £28k. All overtime is paid at time and a half in the week and double time at the weekends. Candidates should expect to work 40-50 hours a week and will be scheduled to work two weekends a month. Realistic first year earnings will be in the region of £40k.
