The Company
My client is a hugely successful manufacturer of composite materials. Their success has been built upon finding a niche in the market, and their ability to meet their clienteles most exact requirements. Thirty percent annual growth is forecast for 2008 and 2009 as their order book continues to grow. To support this position a new position has arisen for an electrical maintenance engineer.
The Role
As the maintenance electrician you will take ownership of all electrical engineering and maintenance issues within a medium engineering environment. You will be responsible for attending breakdowns, implementing PPM, machinery improvements, machinery modifications and continuous improvement activities. The machines you are working on are all PLC controlled and are concerned with the manufacture of glass fibre and carbon fibre composites.
The Candidate
Candidates for this position must be self starters, with a ‘can do’ attitude and possess the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Electrical qualifications, a comprehensive electro-mechanical skill set and an awareness of PLC controls are essential. Full training to familiarise with the machinery is provided. Longer term the opportunity to move in to a supervisory position may present itself.
