PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER / COUNTY DURHAM / £NEG
In this key position the PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will be responsible for the design, development & characterisation of GaAs MMIC & other products in the frequency range 1-40 GHz, for wireless infrastructure, mobile applications, point-to-point communications & VSAT terminals. Applications are welcomed from engineers with skills as follows:
- Experience in a microwave product development activity, or equivalent postgraduate qualifications
- Understanding/ability in microwave circuit design & test in the 1-40GHz range
- Knowledge of microwave design software e.g. MWO or ADS
- Good literacy & mathematical skills
- Good presentation skills
- GaAs MMIC design exp
- Design exp in specific functions such as LNA, HPA or mixer design
This PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING position will involve:
* Designing & developing GaAs based products for the merchant market
* Working with external customers to ensure effective product development
* Designing, modelling & simulating MMIC structures incl. packaging, to meet customer requirements
* Testing/evaluating new products using GaAs MMIC processes
* Become familiar with foundry processes/design rules
* Detailed investigation of small & large-signal circuit behaviour
* Rigorous characterisation of MMIC designs (small-signal, large-signal & DC)
