We are currently recruiting a Local Procurement Manager for a market leader in the defence and space industry. This opportunity is a permanent role. The successful candidate will be involved in all PCB technologies produced including multilayer high density and thin/thick film forms.

The role will involve the alignment of supply base with Internal customer needs to meet on time on quality on cost expectations. In addition to this it will also involve the daily management with internal customer teams to ensure that demand order management requirements for procurement are fully satisfied.

The successful candidate will be the active interface to the Direct Materials Electrical Products Commodity Manager so that local commodity management activities have the required multi-national support and are aligned to the relevant commodity strategies. Other responsibilities will include:

- Supplier Evaluation and Development for those critical suppliers.

- Sourcing new suppliers as required involving Request For Proposal, bidding and proposal management.

- Development of the PCB commodity strategy; supplier strategies and alignment with SED; negotiation of contractual arrangements; setting of technical, cost, quality and process targets; monitor and control performance; enhancing relationship through Multi-Functional Team’s; support procurement and purchasing activities.

We are looking for candidates that have a strong electronics background with proven knowledge of PCB technology preferably within the defence/aerospace arena. Candidates need to have a good understanding of manufacturing and production processes as well as knowledge of integration both at component and equipment level across the product life cycle.
